    Description

These are steel plates used to weld into your 1967-1977 4wd F250 highboy frame to get rid of manual steering or power assist steering and install a much improved 1978-79 F250 4wd power steering box. This also works great to go to crossover steering at the same time.
I only sell the flat steel pieces and the round spacers that are helpful to fabricate this conversion process- this is by no means a bolt in kit nor does it include the steering box or hardware. Picture #2 shows everything that I sell.
You will need to cut your factory cross member as pictured. These are all of the new steel pieces to box in the cross member and mount the newer steering gear box. Fabrication skills are still required- this will just save you a ton of guess work. This was painstakingly designed and redesigned on CAD software and cut out on a CNC plasma table so as to be a precise and quality fit. It was entirely designed and tested here in the USA. I used this on my 1974 highboy with great results.
A total of 4 steel plates and 4 steel spacers are included. see the screenshot of the CAD design. these are made of high quality 3/16 steel.
Lares part number 1148 is a great source for a steering box.
For a clockable pitman arm to go to crossover, Skys Offroad sells part number
FORD-CSKPA-PA42. I used this in a 2" drop and it did require minor notching of my crossmember to clear and it did also require lifted front springs. A clockable pitman arm without any drop would have way too much interference with the crossmember and just not work. The larger drop arms would require front springs with 6" or so of lift.
