1933 1934 Ford Greyhound hood ornament radiator cap Lincoln Rod rat READ
Estate find. Will describe best I can.
Research says the greyhound was the emblem for Lincoln cars in the 1920s.  Ford put the greyhound on their '33 & '34 Fords. They were part hood ornament/part of radiator cap.  From the photos I've researched I think this is Ford, because of the shape of the base. There are originals and their are ones cast from a mold (that sell for hundreds). I don't think this has been on a vehicle , as there is no pitting.
There are some issues I'll describe .
looks like a hairline crack, inside of left rear leg. near base. There is a ridge where the section under the tail meets the base..not sure if that's supposed to be there or a repair. light surface scratches, particularly on base.
The front paws show natural indentations; whereas picture of reproductions just show a blob. I think that adds to argument this may be original. I don't know for sure.
from rear of base to front paw: 10 inches
from rear paw to front paw about 8 1/2
last four photos are from search to show why I think Ford.
see photos, they are part of description. ask questions.  As found.
